Mount Everest summit poster…

Mark Wood

I was having a coffee today with a couple of friends -  Mark Kelly and his brother Paul (both were in the Himalayas a couple of years ago on a trek with my expedition company – Mark has also guided for me on polar and mountain expeditions in the past) I noticed this great poster on the wall of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay and I thought I’d share it…

Mount Everest Summit in only 3 days…

Mark Wood

Congratulations to Singi Lama

A friend and expedition leader in the Himalayas. On the 19th May he successfully summated Mount Everest for the second time. The remarkable thing about this expedition is that it only took him only 3 days to do it as he started out on the 17th May.

I will be heading back into the Himalayan mountains again in September to join Singi in guiding a expedition to Island Peak.
Let me know if anybody is interested in coming along on the expedition with us;

Hello World

Mark Wood

Welcome to my explorer web site.

In this potentially incredible year for me I decided to provide a site that would enable the reader to understand my reason for exploring.

I wanted to show how communicating my experiences whilst operating in minus temperatures or climbing through the Himalayan mountains in thin air can have a direct impact on how students and businesses view their own environment. I have set up projects for schools and companies – I’ve linked with charities and organisations and I have understood the need to involve the local people who live in the countries I operate in.

This year I will be communicating my experiences  direct from the polar extremes and I look forward to posting films, pod casts, blogs and photographs to bring you into the journey itself.

On this blog section in Documents for down load you can down load the Educational Schools Programme and the Environmental Awareness Company Sponsorship document. Please email me if you have any questions about these or any other areas in the site itself.
