Hi Mark, I dread to think what expeditions you’re planning next, a complete mad man but wonderful what you do! I bet you had a fantastic time with the other explorers, lots in common and probably friends for life. Been great listening to your blogs and now watching the video’s, you haven’t changed a bit apart from the beard Yes it’s been quite a while since good old Finham and yes would love a catch up some time when your back in Blighty! Both our kids are Finham girls too (now one at Uni), and it was our eldest that told me Lizzy worked there too when she saw her picture on facebook! Fantastic acheivement and I know everyone is very proud of you, particularly your father (but knowing his sense of humor he would probably be more worried about your blue balls and not gold and silver! ha! Let’s take a sanity check here – 99% percent of the earth’s population wouldn’t even make it to either of the poles – let alone both of them. Goog luck for the second half – my thoughts and best wishes are with you!

The sliver ball and flags are for teams to take photographs etc – it’s situated about 20 foot from the location of the pole. It’s there to protect the actual location of the pole.

The gold one is the location of the pole itself and it moves every year wihtin a small area.

Nice to hear from you Dawn and thanks for following the expedition – it’s been awhile since we were at school together.

Hello Mark. Congratulations on your achievements so far.I heard you speak at Corley Village Hall a few months ago and your plan seemed incredible.
Interesting chat with the F.o.E. chap. Many people may have forgotten about CFC’s, and Acid Rain. More recently dolphin friendly fishing and the use of supermarket carrier bags as campaigns did change laws and the way we live/think.Good to be reminded that ordinary people campaigning does have an impact locally and globally.

Hi Mark, sorry that the bad weather is delaying you, but you went to such lengths to get there just enjoy it. I saw where you are on television once and was shocked to see the plants, restaurant etc. in such a place. You sound very busy with all your projects and I salute you. I’m also very envious of your weight loss, how I wish I could loose 3 stone and still eat chocolate every 2 hours! It’s not fair, just because you did a little bit of exercise ha ha! Hope you can carry on your adventure soon, meanwhile happy filming xx

Keeping my fingers crossed for better weather soon; still, enjoy what time you have left there. You are in mine and mum’s thoughts alot and you are also talked about quite a bit on the nature forum she belongs to – so you definitely have more support than you can see from comments etc. The weather back here is crisp but quite spring-like at times. Flowers (daffodils etc) are blooming 3 weeks early so climate change is once more in the news! Looking forward to more of your updates. Jules x

You made it! As someone who doesn’t personally know you, I am glad to say this hasn’t detracted from the excitement I have felt as I’ve followed your progress and the relief I now feel at your superb achievement which I have followed with interest.

Well done to you. Rest up plenty and enjoy rewinding the video in your head of these past weeks. Truly inspirational. What great stamina you have and thank you for highlighting and keeping at the fore of our minds the wonderful poles and the responsibilty we have to change our lifestyles and the impact we have on global warming.
