Hi Mark. 2 days to Christmas! The Metro did an article on your expedition this morning with some pictures. Truly awesome. Your cause is a good one and whilst you may be lonely there, there are those of us who appreciate what you are doing (and envious of you)and are grateful. Your broadcast today was spot on. We are responsible for our world in the scene of time we are in and we need to take this seriously.
Mark, I am signing off now as Christmas looms and I won’t be in work so….”A very HAPPY, meaning-full and wonder-full Christmas to you” and all being well will be in touch in the New Year. Do take care as you contemplate the important issues of life. Will toast you and your expedition on Christmas day. You won’t regret doing what you are doing on your death-bed!
“This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.” (Chief Seattle)

  2. Top man Mark. Good luck from everyone at the British Red Cross you are carrying a very important message about climate change but you are not alone because we and many others are thinking of you and wish you every success with your remarkable challenge.

    Hi Mark
Great to hear you are in such high spirits and hitting your targets. Saw the Metro article online today and your expedition is undoubtedly generating greater awareness of climate change. Thinking of you en route to the South Pole whilst the UK prepares for Christmas is quite strange. The article portrays you as be “the loneliest person in the world” this Christmas but my sense is that you will be in the thoughts of manÅ· and spiritually at least far from being the loneliest. You are very brave (and must be a bit mad :-) ) to have taken on this amazing challenge. Are you able to give us a better idea of the terrain and your sense of the place?
ALl the best and great luck
    Mike

    Hi mark

Just read about you in the metro while taking the train this morning. The adventure sounds amazing. I have read a lot about the poles. Will be following your blog from now on. Have a great day.

  5. Happy Christmas Mark from all at SecondNature!

We will be thinking of you on Christmas Day and are proud to be one of North South Solo’s original sponsors!

    All best,

Charles, Mark and the SecondNature team

  6. As always it is good to hear from you and we are all so pleased that you are making your targets. It has been a bit nippy here in Cov but has warmed up in the last few days….just like there really!!
BTW, don’t eat all your stinger bars as I have ran out, so if you can save a few for me, that would be good.
Take care my friend and know that you are in our thoughts.

Mark, been following your adventures for sometime, your article in the Metro today has prompted me to respond to the “lonelinest person in the world” quote.
You are only alone in body and mind, you carry with you our thoughts and best wishes, sprinkled with a bit of envy.
Stay strong and know that you are never alone, our spirit is with you.
Best wishes from all in HMForces.
    PJ.
