Hi Mark – I had missed all of your publicity (tv/radio) regarding the expedition and have only come across it this morning in the Metro newspaper on travelling to work on the bus in Manchester. I am not sure if these replies are only for family, friends or sponsor groups so forgive me if this is the case. But I am amazed and excited at what you are doing, a bit jealous (to be honest) as I travel to a stuffy legal office environment to work in (and dream!) I will be following your expedition with great interest and wish you every possible good wish to complete. I hope the scene wherever you go is breathtaking and inspirational to you and that your passion will drive you forward. No doubt along the way you will have time to examine the landscape of your own heart and soul along side the majesty of what you see. I am writing a story about the inuit people and it is set in Quanaaq so am very eager to capture the Arctic through your eyes as I am, alas, an armchair traveller only. Look forward so much to hearing your next broadcast and will follow your adventure with a passion. “If Antarctica were music it would be Mozart. Art, and it would be Michelangelo. Literature, and it would be Shakespeare. And yet it is something even greater; the only place on earth that is still as it should be. May we never tame it.”

Hi Susan,
Thank you for well wishes for Mark – this forum is for all interested in his incredible challenge so no need for apologies! It’s great to know people are reading about Mark and following his progress. Do check back here for updates from the ice – Mark will keep us informed as best he can.
Suzy
Good luck Mark. Looking forward to your updates of the journey.
Be safe.
Ken
Many thanks Suzannah. I will look forward to receiving further news and will visit the site often in hope (although I realise my expectations of new reports are probably greater than Mark’s speed delivering them!) Still, am very excited at hearing of his progress in his expedition.
Kind regards.
Susan
