10 April 2012 – Mark is back on ice to cover the last two degrees of latitude to the North Pole solo and unsupported. Since leaving Antarctica the focus of the expedition has had to change but Mark is using the opportunity to focus on sharing one-of-a-kind updates from the ice.
29 February 2012 – Mark may be forced to abandon his world-first polar attempt due to the large bonds required to guarantee his safety on the ice.
14 February 2012 – Due to a fundamental change in direction, Mark will now be briefly returning to the UK on his way to the North Pole, and will be available for media interviews on 21 and 22 February!
10 January 2012 – Late last night Mark Wood arrived at the South Pole, completing the first leg of his North South Solo Expedition. After 50 days alone on ice, he was exhausted but thrilled.
3 January 2012 – After 42 days alone on the ice, Mark Wood had a surprise encounter on New Year’s day as he bumped into a group of Norwegian kite surfers making their way back from the South Pole.
6 December 2011 – After two weeks trekking alone through Antarctica’s seemingly infinite terrain, the South Pole is still a long way off for Coventry’s Mark Wood.
16 November 2011 – As the BBC take the decision to shelter audiences from the impact of climate change on our poles, one bloke from Coventry is risking his life on a record breaking journey to raise awareness.
8 November 2011 – Today polar explorer Mark Wood leaves the UK for the South Pole with the intention of returning home a record breaker. He is attempting to become the first person in history to solo ski both the South and North Geographic Pole’s consecutively.
3 November 2011 – Polar explorer Mark Wood has appointed Life Size Media to oversee the media around his forthcoming North South Solo Expedition.
18 October 2011 – Mark Wood is used to conquering extreme challenges. But next month he sets off for his toughest challenge to date.
